The “Nigel Molesworth” method

pexels-photo.jpgWhen I was growing up my Dad was my best mathematics tutor! I would come home from school feeling rather confused, and he’d say “Don’t worry, I’m going to show you the Nigel Molesworth method…” This usually involved some cunning shortcut to achieving the desired outcome with much less fuss than I had dreamed possible – the equivalent of solving the cube by disassembling and reassembling it: practical & works every time!

This past week, while trying to get to grips with Calculus once again, I came across Leibniz notation and I felt like I was having a Nigel Molesworth moment all over again – I can differentiate in 2 lines, or I could do it 10: no contest!
